so it might be time for an update here. I still live in chongqing, but things have changed.
for the next academic year, I’m going to be a chinese language student at sichuan international studies university, or SISU for short. I got a chongqing mayor scholarship to help pay the bills, and will be living in a dorm on campus.
my goal is to pass the hsk level 5 test. the hsk test is about equivalent to the TOEFL or IELTS exams and is what you need to pass if you want to prove to a school, workplace, or anyone in between that you CAN in fact speak language X well enough to succeed.
the hsk has 6 levels, and passing the level 5 is the minimum you need to, say, go to school in chinese or something.
at any rate, I’ll be here for another 9+ months with language classes in the mornings and afternoons free to explore the city/go on adventures/etc
what’s that? you didn’t have a chance to come visit during the last 2 years? no problem! you’ve got another 10 months to get on that.
so there you have it
woo!
Great blog, been wondering what you were up to.
